Geospatial Web (GeoWeb) are websites that bring together geographic information with information describing human or natural phenomena.

The websites linked on this page allow you to visualize where the phenomena described by data are occurring. Many of these sites allow exporting of mapped data for use in presentations or printing.

• Thematic Mapping Engine

  Visualize global UN data on Google Earth maps.
• IMF Data Mapper

  Visualize economic data from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) about its 188 member countries.

• Carbon and Biodiversity Calculator

  Use a map to define your area of interest and calculate an estimated contribution of this area to climate change mitigation. At the same time, it also provides information on the area’s conservation values, protected areas, forest status and opportunities for forest and landscape restoration.
• Agricultural Georeferenced Information System (AGIS)

  Developed by the UN Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO). Several map tools linked from this page, all focused on South Africa. Food insecurity, Weeds & Invasive Plants, SADC Atlas showing administrative and cadastral boundaries, natural resources atlas, agro-climate information.
• North American Environmental Atlas

  An interactive mapping tool to research, analyze and manage environmental issues in Canada, United States and Mexico. Created by the Commission for Environmental Cooperation.

• AfricaMap

  Created at Harvard University, display a wide variety of data layers including languages, ethnicities, trade routes, historic maps, conflict data, explorers, health, and more.
• SERVIR Africa

  Create maps using the SERVIR data which focus on agriculture, ecosystems, biodiversity, population density, health, climate, water
• Statistics South Africa

  Provides interactive maps to view census and other data. Additional services include data access and prepared maps.
